Spring Break 2010

We headed to Bham for spring break. We were not going to sit around the house (in case you haven't noticed we tend to stay on the go lately! We have become accustomed to not sitting at home.) We started off by hitting the zoo with Jennifer and Anneliese. It was Anneliese's 1st trip to the zoo so we were glad we could share with her! The zoo is undergoing some MAJOR construction but we still enjoyed our nice afternoon out there.

Jennifer and Anneliese checking out the llama....

Before it attacked. This is my most fav pic and I'm so glad I had my camera out! ha ha ha

On Tuesday, we played with Andrew and did shopping and Zoe's for lunch! I miss some of my old favorites for lunch so I do my best to hit them up when we go home. Tuesday night I got together with some sorority sisters and Mandy cooked us a fabulous dinner and I got to visit her new house.

Wednesday we played with our friends Jones and Crawford at their new house. We had so much fun, but I totally forgot to get out the camera. Chasing 4 kids ages 4, 3, 2 and 1 will do that to you : ) After we left their house, I made a run to Whole Foods to bring some yummy stuff home for us. We also picked up some cupcakes so we could celebrate Meme's birthday a little early (it's actually today - HAPPY BIRTHDAY MEME!)

Spring Park

Yesterday, Alan, the girls and I headed over to Tuscumbia to Spring Park. I don't know how I found out about it, but I've had it bookmarked on the computer for aawhile. I knew yesterday would be perfect for it because the weather was so awesome (Low 70's and lots of sun!). We headed out right before lunch and stopped a Swamp John's for lunch before getting to the park. The girls were so excited because this park had real rides!!! A roller coaster, a train and carousel. They were in heaven - and they have unlimited rides when you buy your bands so $16 for all 4 of us to ride different things was a deal! There was also a large playground, waterfalls and a pond. Alan and both agreed definitely worth the hour drive!

Gracie riding the roller coaster. When it 1st took off I thought she looked scared to death, but she quickly smiled and waved at us so I knew she was ok! She rode it about 8 times so I definitely know she loved it!

The Waterfall. I love Waterfalls!

Gracie and Alan at the top!
Gracie is really into doing her "model" poses.

Ice cream treats - Mallary had a huge popsicle that Daddy had to finish and
Gracie picked a sno cone (peach and bubblegum -Blah!)

Such a great day!

Easter Sunday

The girls woke up to see that the Easter Bunny had come by and left some treats for them. After a breakfast of chocolate, we got ready for church. Afterwards we enjoyed the most beautiful day outside.

Easter Eggs

The night before Easter we spent having a little Easter Party. After dinner we had easter bunny cookies and easter egg brownies for dessert and dyed our eggs. I used to be a fan of using good ole fashioned food coloring and making your own colors, etc. Now, i adore the PAAS kits for ease of this project with the girls : ) Mallary had a blast and would yell Egg and Mix It when I would put the egg in her color and she stirred it around. Gracie had fun trying some new things like holding an egg in one color and then putting th eother end in another color! Even Daddy got in on the fun!

School Easter Party

Mallary's only again...I'm so missing Gracie's parties this year : (
Mallary's little group is so cute though. For this party, they also had an egg hunt on the playground along with their special snack.

80

A few weeks ago, the girls and I headed up to Nashville with mom, Elaine and Andrew to meet with Grandma and Mary Beth who came down from Ohio. We were so lucky to be celebrating my Grandma's 80th Birthday (a week early). The girls and I came up for a shopping day, dinner and a little surprise party that night for her. We all brought our presents and had a yummy cake. My Grandpa got her a Pandora bracelet and all 4 granddaughters got her a charms for it. Mom and Mary Beth got her a caroling angels lladro. We had to laugh when mom picked it out b/c we knew she couldn't go wrong with that trio of Grandma's favorite things : ) We are beyond blessed to have her at 80 years old, good health, still shopping and playing bridge, and still making delicious pies (well pretty much anything she cooks is delicious). I'm so thankful for all our memories together and that my girls have a chance to have a great grandma (Grammy) to know and make memories with as well!

We were all singing Happy Birthday and Mallary wasn't paying attention
It was the end of the song and she ran over to blow out the candles!
Too much practice from her recent birthday!

This is what she looked like instead of singing!
I usually hate pics like this, but she didn't want clothes back on
and was being so sweet and her little hiney - I couldn't resist!

Gracie was Grammy's Big Helper.
She opened her cards and presents with her...

I meant opened them for her!

Play Ball!

Instead of attempting to catching up, I'm just going to attempt to be a better blogger. I do have a couple of posts I want to document, but I'm really going to do better at staying current. With that said, last Saturday was Gracie's first softball game!!! I'm so stinkin proud of her! She has been practicing hard for a month now and I can see lots of improvement already! She is on the Blasters. Saturday they had a parade, opening ceremonies, pictures and their first game! Talk about a big day (have I mentioned I'm team mom and had to also participate in these events and coordinate them for our team and that the biggest fundraiser I work on for JLMC was also the same day - I was literally running on fumes Saturday night.) Anyways, Her team won 2-0! She didn't get a hit, but had so much fun anyways.
Ready for the Parade
