Ohio

The girls and I headed out for Ohio with mom the end of our spring break week.  The 1st thing we had to plan for was ridiculously cold weather - highs in the upper 40's for end of April/1st of May.  We got there on Thursday to find Grandma had what we thought was an allergic reaction - lots of hives, swelling.  Grandma got sick and got put in the hospital on Saturday while we were there with some heart trouble.  While it was not the vacation we were expecting we still had some good photo moments for us and some fun times.  We stayed a few extra days to make sure she would be ok and that Grandpa was not alone.

The Chicks and a Chick Sleepover

The 1st thing they told the kindergartners at orientation was that in the spring they would have baby chicks.  My Gracie talked about this all year long.  If there was one thing that she cared most about was seeing these eggs and baby chicks hatching from them.   Finally it was time.  The eggs and incubators arrived in the classroom and the waiting and watching began.  What a surprise when we came in on Monday morning and they were in the process of hatching.  We loved it.  It was so exciting.  Even more exciting is that we found out that one night the chicks got to come home with us and spend the night.  We learned that they chirped alot and pooped alot  - ha!

CWS Spring Program

Tonight was Mallary's night to shine.  She is our only preschooler right now so we made tonight just about her.  She wanted to get extra pretty so we curled her hair and painted her nails and toenails.  She looked so cute!  This year they had Tie Dyed Shirts and the theme was "All you need is Love".  She sang Skinamarinky and I Love a Rooster.  She did so good and sangso well!  We were so proud of her and loved watching her show!

Happy Dance in Mrs. Donna's class for doing such a good job!
 Cookies afterwards...
Alan and I laughed so hard b/c she had this tiny cookie and
we were dying for her just to finish it up quick.  Pregnant Mama was hungry for dinner and we were ready to go.  She had the equivalent of a 1 little bite left and Alan and I took quiet bets on how many it would take her to finish.  I opted for the oh she'll stick it in her mouth and be done.  Alan said nope it's at least a 2 biter...and low and behold it took 4  more bites to finish a little crumb of a cookie.  We were laughing so hard at her dainty little bites.

Our Kite

Back in March I picked up a couple of cheap kites for the girls.  We flew them at the park one day and Alan decided we needed a bigger better kite.  So he MADE it.  It flew awesome.  We had a great time making it fly high and chasing it.

Pirate Day!

Arrrr Mateys...Kindergarten held is pirate day in celebration of learning all their consonants.  All the sweet little children were dressed in their pirate best and played all sorts of games to celebrate.  My job was helping them with the walk the plank game.  We had so much fun.  Also a super shout out to our sweet friends the McClendons who supplied our costume for the day since they had done this last year.  But alas, learning all the letters is so bittersweet because while I'm so proud of my sweet girl it also means the school year end is going to be here before I know it. {Sigh}

How cool is she?!
Waiting for the games to begin!

Easter Weekend

We started getting ready for Easter Saturday night by dying our Easter Eggs.  We love to do this and the girls made such pretty colored eggs.

After Egg dying it was time for bed so the Easter Bunny would come and visit us.  Lucky for them - he stopped by with some treats including a sno cone machine, candy and other small treats.

After checking out their surprises, it was time to get ready for church.

After church, Meme and Chief came up to spend the afternoon with us and have a yummy lunch.
