Grandparents Day

Friday was Grandparents Day at Gracie's school and let me tell you they put on the CUTEST program!  I just loved it.  Gracie was lucky to have both MeMe and Nana come up and visit her school and watch.  They started off with their pledges  and then sang some super cute songs about Grandparents.  Next they presented grandparents with cookie mix in cute jars and a handprint poem.  We all got to each lunch and have dessert. After that we got to see a slideshow with their grandparent pictures, and something special they love about grandparents.  Gracie's said "Going Shopping and Going to Coffee" well that couldn't be more true of what she loves to do when she stays at MeMe and Chiefs.

All the kindergartners lined up for their program

 Gift time

Our lunch was yummy chicken fingers and side items

 Time for one last picture

Afterwards Gracie got to go home with Meme and spend the weekend in Bham.  I got this picture on Saturday.  Spoiled?!?!

1st Field Trip

Can you believe it's time for Field Trips.  Gracie's school has them once a month and this month our first one was to the Decatur Library.  She has been so excited to go (and ride a bus - but not the big yellow ones - church buses that seat about 15 and she didn't know the difference!)  She was also excited b/c she didn't have to use her booster seat since the library is only about 2 blocks away.

Anyways, Several moms were waiting in the library and soon all the kids came in silently with their best library manners.  We went to the children's area and to the story room for some books and a puppet show.  I could tell she was loving every second of it.  She kept turning around giving me the biggest smiles!

After that, they were shown the "Easy Reader" section and allowed to check out 1 book.  She got to give them her card and pick out her own book.  She chose an Amelia Bedelia book.  (She may or may not have inherited her mom's indecisiveness and was the last one to choose a book)

Nursery Rhyme Day

We are loving Kindergarten and one of our 1st special things this month (there are several planned!!) was Nursery Rhyme Day and Mother Goose Olympics!  The parents were allowed to stay this morning for photo session and the reciting of the rhymes.  It was so cute and all the children looked precious!  Gracie chose to be Rock a bye Baby.  We put on a shorter pink dress, some ruffled bloomers, curly pigtails with ribbons and a paci necklace.  It was so cute (and easy!)  There were several mice, a spider, a clock, some Jack and Jill's, Humpty Dumpties and a Yankee Doodle.

Gameday!

Once again, football season is upon us!  We are evenly split with Auburn and Alabama fans in our house.   Gracie is our Auburn Fan and Mallary is our Alabama Girl (who will cheer for Auburn; unlike her sister who thinks Roll Tide might as well be bad words).  I of course LOVE the crimson and white and looking forward to an awesome season which too me - is just good football - every game doesn't have to be a win - but I won't lie -a W on our side is always better!
