4 Months Old

My sweet baby is already 4 months old today...I can't believe it. She becomes livelier everyday. She has been sleeping through the night every night. She has totally given up the paci for her thumb and hair twirling. And you can see, the hair goes everywhere and I love it. It won't lay down Mallary is starting to hold onto toys and play with them and she likes getting her soft pink lovies to snuggle with. She continues to love to swing, but has new toys now - the doorway bouncer is a new joy for her! We will go see the doctor next week for her 4 month check up and dreaded shots so I will do her stats then. I also will wait for his ok to start cereal so check back for those fun pictures next week! I can't believe she will be sitting in the high chair getting big girl food.

The Blueberry Farm

We made it to the farm today! It was warm, but not too hot for an afternoon of blueberry picking! Gracie was so excited to be going to Old McDonald's farm (her name for every farm). She loved picking the berries and carrying around the bucket. I just knew it would spill, but she did a good job and kept all the berries in the bucket. Now we just need to find our recipes for blueberry pie, blueberry poundcake, blueberry muffins, blueberry pancakes, blueberry ----you get the point we got alot of them!

Weekend Wrapup

As usual the weekend was another weekend filled with lots of fun and beautiful weather...
Friday night Alan took us out to eat Mexican...Yum!

Saturday we helped Abby celebrate her 2nd Birthday. Abby and Gracie are friends at School and Sunday School.

This is Abby! We had fun at your party!!!!

As always, bubbles are a hit!
More bubble fun!

Gracie enjoying her cake and ice cream! Yum Yum!

Abby had everyone make a bookmark for their favorite books!

Sunday we got up and went to church and then out to lunch. Gracie and I played outside while Mallary and Dada took naps. Gracie had fun in her redneck pool and her too small swimsuit from last year that she insisted on wearing. Please notice that she did not swim alone and in her pool was a golf club, shoe, broken gladiola (post coming on them later) a garden stake, 2 balls and a hot air balloon. When I asked if I could take that junk out so she could splash better - her response - I don't think so.

Yes, it is just a little too small....

Delicious!

"Swimming" with her treasures!

This is a close up of the treasures! What a sweet girl!

This next picture is just for laughs and Happy Father's Day to Alan...
We grilled out steaks and I just set the plate of all our steaks in front of him as a joke.

Today starts VBS at our church. This is what Gracie wanted to wear. Oh, yes, its the Hot Pink Bandana made into a skirt. Yes, she would not leave the house without the bandana on. I'm happy to report that she would leave it in the car. The girls are staying in the nursery while I help out in the Craft Shack. I went down to check on the girls and Gracie was pushing Abby in a stroller full speed. When I came in at 12 to get her - her cheeks were bright pink and she said " Gracie actually said when we got home, I'm going to get in my bed and take a nap! And she actually did.

More Funnies

I am trying to document Gracie's (and eventually Mallary's) funny comments, etc. so that I will have them...

Saturday night
Alan: Gracie, why did you pee pee in the floor?
Gracie: Because I LOVE YOU Dada...(how are we supposed to get mad at her with that reply)

I was brushing Gracie's hair and she said how do I look and I said beautiful. She then wanted to brush my hair and did and I said how do I look and her reply "Distinguished". Now how does a 2 year old know that word...

Gracie Funnies

Gracie: "mommy"
Mommy: "yes"
Gracie: "I'm so glad you're my big brother"

On the way to the farmer's market today (Gracie interpreted as "old macdonald's farm" and proceeds to sing many rounds of the song on the way)
My favorite animals he had on his farm included: a whale (splash, splash here, splash splash there) and a dolphin (squeak, squeak here, squeak squeak there) and a SCARLET MACAW (squawk, squawk here, squawk, squawk there). This isn't the first we've heard of the scarlet macaw - apparently it's her favorite bird thanks to "Go Go" (Go Diego Go show)

Elaine's Shower

Well, Baby Drew is all set when he arrives!!! Elaine's baby shower on Saturday was Fabulous and she is fully stocked with anything and everything she could possibly need or want! How fortunate she is to have such loving friends and family to shower her with such wonderful gifts! There was a great turnout and the hostesses did the best job! (Ha Ha...I was a hostess, but my other helpers outdid themselves!)

Putt Putt

We had a fun Sunday School family night the other night playing putt putt. Gracie was a wild woman and was all over the place. She took a few putts here and there, but mostly ran all over the place like she owned it! She had fun with her friends that were there.

My sweet little Mallary has started sleeping through the night! I consider it official since she has done it for a week straight now! Woo Hoo!! She has started letting out little laughs now and then. I LOVE it!

She loves the bar on her bouncer now! She knows if she grabs those birds it will start singing and lighting up!!

Our Little Fellow

Ever since Mallary was born, Gracie has affectionately referred to her as a "him" or "he" or "little fellow". I crack up everytime she does it. She knows Mal is a girl and her sister, but we hear these phrases quite often.

He's so precious
Can I hold him
I love him
What a cute little fellow
That's my boy!

We tell her she, her, girl, etc. However she chooses the use the male pronouns for "him" and I just have to laugh.

And for some interesting family news....one of our cousins has become a published author! Mom was in Ohio this week visiting and had a lake day with his parents, grandparents and sister and they shared his news about his book. Pretty neat! Here it is.

My Little Fishies!

Saturday TJ, Laura and Anna Kate had us over to TJ's parent's house for a day of fun in the sun! Thanks Mrs. Kathy for letting us spend the day at your pool! It was a beautiful day and all the kids had so much fun playing and swimming. Mallary even enjoyed sleeping in the screened in porch under the ceiling fan.

On Sunday MeMe and MoMo stopped in Decatur on their way home from visiting Grammy and JJ. We met them at yummy Big Bob Gibson's for some lunch. Next weekend is Andrew's baby shower and we can't wait to give him lots of presents. Summer school starts tomorrow for Gracie and potty training is going quite well. Every day gets better.
