Mallary at 2 months

Mallary was 2 months old on Saturday, but I wanted to wait until our Dr. appt. to do her post. She weighed in at 11 lbs. 7 oz. and 23 1/2 inches long. To compare with Gracie - They were both the exact same length and Gracie was 12 lbs. Mallary received 3 shots and her rotateq dose. She cried only briefly for shots and was asleep in her carrier before we were done checking out. Our Dr. said she looked great. We had a laugh because when he came in to see her she went "hey" Of course she was just "talking" but we got a little laugh.

She is eating 4 1/2 oz of formula per feeding. She now loves her bath since I put her in the big tub and she has water around her. She also likes to stick her feet in the running water. Other likes: her swing and laying in mommy's bed at bedtime and early in the morning. She smiles all the time and is rarely fussy. We are so lucky!

Where have we been???

Sorry for those who a frequent viewers and have been missing our updates but I messed up the computer charger and had to wait until the new one arrived to turn on the computer. It's here and I'm back with lots of fun pics and happenings.

We've done lots of spring planting and yard work. I have the "in progress pictures" from 2 weeks ago but not the final product from this past one so I will do another post to show how great our yard looks (well great to us and FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC from what we started with 4 years ago). I wish I had the before from when we bought the house to what we have now.

We went to Bham this past weekend for Tyler's Bday party and for MeMe's Birthday.

Also, Mallary turned 2 months old on Saturday....where is the time going????

Upcoming events: Alan, Dad and Jeff's BBQ team will be competing this weekend in Huntsville at the Whistle Stop Festival and next Monday is Gracie's Spring Show.

Bubbles and Musikgarten

Today we went back to music after a 7 week hiatus. We have been going every Friday morning since Gracie was 6 months old. It is the Musikgarten program and I love it for her. We enjoy it and Mallary will start in August. Gracie was overjoyed today to get to sing, dance and play instruments and visit her music friends.

Dancing with scarves

Listening to the animal sounds

Playing the resonator bars

Last night our neighbor Michelle came over with her bubble machine while we were outside playing. Gracie was very excited to chase the bubbles. Last night was the first night in a long time Gracie was out by 9 - and it only took 8 hours of playing to wear her out! We spent several hours at the park and then played outside enjoying such beautiful weather.

Conversation with Gracie

From Monday's school time out conversation

Teachers: Gracie join us as we all practice "Twinkle Twinkle" with us for our school program.
Gracie: "I'm too tired to sing" and throws herself on the floor. Then she goes to play and does a repeat performance of I'm too tired at another request to practice with the class. She refused to practice for the show.

Mommy (in the car) Why wouldn't you sing Twinkle Twinkle?
Gracie: I HATE TWINKLE TWINKLE. I NOT SING TWINKLE TWINKLE.
Mommy: Why
Gracie: B/C I'm Mad
Mommy: Why
Gracie: B/C I'm Sad
Mommy: Why
Gracie: B/c a squirrel came in the room.
Mommy: a what???

Picture Perfect Weekend

Saturday we loaded up and headed to Huntsville for busy day. We got the girls pictures taken at Portrait Innovations - and I must say they turned out sooo cute!!!! Mallary slept through most of them, but we managed a few with open eyes. I will take sleeping over fussing any day! Gracie was her usual camera hog and hammed it up for the photographer. Here is a preview of the pictures, however, since several of you are getting them in the mail I don't want to share others.

After we did pictures, we ran to Toys R Us for a floating bathing suit for Gracie for our upcoming beach trip, formula and some other goodies. We came back and took a ride through a new neighborhood in Huntsville called The Ledges that Alan had a job site at. Huge new houses and a country club up on the mountain - pretty neat. After our ride and a stop to pick up the pictures we decided to try a new restaurant called Red Robin. Our dinner was great and we had a hard time deciding what to have. Alan had the chili chili cheeseburger and I had the bruschetta chicken sandwich. Both were delicious and we will go back.

Today we are finally enjoying some spring like weather (although it took until 3 to show up). We played frisbee and swung in the swing, cleaned up the flower beds and Alan has been grilling all day in preparation for some upcoming BBQ Competitions.

Not too much activity planned for this week. We are heading to Bham this weekend so I am wanting to make some plans for some fun!

New Mallary Pics

Poor Mal had to go to the Dr. on Monday for her cold. She's getting better and probably didn't need a Drs. appt, but I just wanted to make sure it wasn't anything more. At her age, she can't have any medicine for a cold so really he just told me to watch for her the 3 weeks. She's acting fine except for an occasional cough so maybe it won't hang around that long.

She is going to have her picture taken on Saturday - so be watching for pics in the mail coming soon! I think I'll do some with Gracie as well in matching dresses! Woo Hoo, I'm excited about that! I love being able to dress them alike or coordinating.

Yes, the hair still sticks up, but not quite as bad

Warning

WARNING:

If you see this girl working at your clinique counter don't let her give you lipstick applying lessons.

New Poll

In anticipation of finding out if Elaine and Jeff will be having a boy or girl, there is a new poll on the left. Actual results will be revealed (hopefully) on April 10th!
