To the Zoo with Andrew!

Lunch Time
Gracie said that she didn't want "cheesy" fingers so she would lean over
and pick them up with her teeth. Elaine and I laughed everytime she did this.
However, as a proud mother, I feel this was incredibly smart as I would not want
the cheesy fingers either. And as her mom, I do not want her wiping that orange funk all
over our clothes and strollers, etc!

8 Months Old

Sorry Mallary - it's a day late. I tried, but Sunday got away from me. Anyways, you are hilarious! You love to laugh and play. You nap once in the morning and again in the afternoon, but neither one is very long (sigh.....) You still take 5- 6oz bottles a day and 4-5 jars of food a day. You are now very mobile - crawling everywhere. You follow me and gracie around, you crawl through the coffee table and into Gracie's room where you love to play! You weigh around 15/16 lbs and in 9 or 12 month clothes - depending on the outfits. Jammies are definitely 12 months. You are very long. You have 4 teeth - 2 on the bottom and 2 top fangs (just in time for halloween) but it felt like the top 2 middle ones were starting to come in today. You love to sleep with mommy and must get in the bed with us. I try to keep you out, but you won't have any of it - it's cuddly in our bed and you love it. Your new trick is making snoring sounds like daddy. He will be snoring and you will start making the sound and then laugh when mommy laughs at you. You love to wave and having you sit still for your monthly photo shoot appears to be a thing of the past.

New Trick

My Little sweet Mallary has learned a new trick-pulling up on the side of the bed this morning when I put her down for a nap. She was already falling asleep so I thought I'd sneak her in there - nope 1st she was fussing and then she was really getting mad. I went in to find her like this! I brought her out and next thing I know she was totally pulled up on the coffee table.

Sips N Strokes

Sips N Strokes * Sips N Strokes * Sips N Strokes

One of my most favorite hobbies!!!! I mean really, painting, having a drink and hanging out with friends - it doesn't get much better than that. And painting step - by - step so that I actually come home with something halfway decent. I also find it truly amazing that every picture comes out so different when everyone is given the same instruction.

So here is mine and Alison's class from last night.

CWS Fall Festival

Wednesday morning Gracie had fall festival at school. What a wonderfully fun morning with her school friends. Gracie won several prizes and had a popcorn "sundae" for a special snack. She is also still talking about Mrs. Kathy and all her silly costumes and being so funny!

We had to find Abby and visit with her!!

Disney on Ice

On Sunday we rounded out a fun filled weekend with an afternoon of Disney on Ice. It was so much fun watching some of our favorite characters skate around. Even Mallary enjoyed it and was so good the whole time! The pics aren't great but not much you can do sitting in a dark arena and holding a baby!

The Little Mermaid set was my favorite so I am sharing that pic!

The Pumpkin Patch

Oh what fun we had today at the Pumpkin Patch. We have never been to this one as we usually go to the one in Hayden, but since we had lots planned this weekend and lots going on the next couple of weekends we thought it would be easier to stay closer to home. Well we are so glad that we went here - great for our kids!! We had so much fun.

Weekend Part I

This weekend is starting off to be so much fun!!! Yesterday afternoon we hit the Decatur High Homecoming Parade in downtown Decatur with some friends. Gracie and Abby had a blast grabbing for candy and Abby was sweet to help keep "baby" company. Last night I had a Jr. League fundraiser and I won 2 fun fun items at our silent auction.

Still More!

Last Friday we went to the Toledo Zoo. I visited it as a child and I didn't remember what a fabulous zoo this is. Oh Wow, did we have a fun day!!!! We saw all kinds of animals that were all out and active and very up close! They have exhibits with windows that you can stand up against. We were at the ape exhibit and standing at it and they were right up to it. Well one decided he wanted to play and banged on the glass and stuck his growly face right up to glass. I wish I had a camera on Gracie - she threw her hands up in the air and went "ahhhhhhhhh" and ran to my mom as fast as she could. I have to say my heart skipped a little beat as well, but ended in laughter at thinking about Gracie's reaction. She has told everyone "the monkey scare me".

Train Ride

(we had her right up to the hippos which are about 2 feet from her face
not - sure what she thinks about them!)

I took lots of animals, but these were just some of the cute ones of the girls.

According to a parent's magazine article it is rated 1 of the Top 10 children's zoos and I would agree from the ones we have visited. We have also been to the Ft. Wayne zoo on this list. My Grandma's town just happens to fall directly in the middle of these 2 cities. How lucky is that?!? I hope we can visit more on this list!
