Tate Farms

After Gracie got out of school on Monday we took a fun trip over to Tate Farms for the afternoon.  Alan took a  1/2 day vacation to go with us.  It was a hot day - almost 90 degrees so a little out of the fall spirit, but lots of fun and much better than rain which stopped us from going the week before.

We got there are started off with the playground/slides/climbing activities and the small corn cribs.

Next we hit up the petting farm - which the girls love and will get all over the animals.  Gracie HATES dogs with a a passion, but will love on a pig all day long - ha!

The jump pillow was new this year and so much fun.  It was like an inground bouncy ball.

Alan braved the hay maze with the girls.  I stood up and watched.  I was thankful they didn't get lost and have to make a call to 911 (did you read about that story in Boston I think).

We did our annual pictures around the farm and had our pumpkin sippys for a snack.

Then it was off to hayride and to find the perfect pumpkin.  I gave the girls the option of 2 regular sized pumpkins or 1 giant one for daddy to carve and since Daddy was with us he could haul around a heavy one.  They opted for a big one!

It officially weighed 26lbs. and the girls had fun pushing it around in a wheelbarrow.

A little more playtime then it was home to celebrate a sweet 2nd birthday.  All in one day - what fun we have!

Tea Party

One of Mallary's sweet friend from church, Hope, invited her to celebrate her birthday with a tea party.  I don't always have my camera at birthday parties anymore but I knew Mallary would really love this one so I made sure to catch her in action at the fancy party!

Hoe Down in Vowel Town

Yep, the kindergartners have mastered the vowels so what better to do than have a "hoe down".  It was absolutely precious.  They all dressed in their western best and the "Vowel Town" was set up with various games that they rotated through and all the games had to do with of course, vowels.  I volunteered at the lasso the vowel station and loved it!  Their teachers always have the cutest ideas - they even had wanted posters with their pictures, a "campfire" that they sang funny western songs too.  They all were so cute!  I can't say it enough about how much we love kindergarten!

 Uh -Oh!!
 tryin to lasso those vowels!
searching for the vowels in her name in the hay
Time for songs around the fire
 The whole gang rounded up!

 Caught her!
And afterwards we had a yummy lunch at Panera just the 2 of us, went to Target for some orange nail polish (one color in our collection that we were missing) and she got a pedicure with her pedicure kit.

When we got back...

We didn't stop!  October is insanely busy for us - I think even more so than the holidays!!  (ask me again in December if I am still saying this!)  Anyways, we got back late Tuesday evening and on Thursday Gracie went with her class to Tate Farms to the Pumpkin Patch.

Friday Night she got to celebrate Lauren and Faith's Birthday with dinner and a movie with the dance girls!

Saturday brought the Power of Pink Walk, flu shots and another Birthday with Gracie's classmates.

Sunday both girls sang in big church as we like to call it : )  They sang great songs and looked so cute!

Sunday night the Children's Director hosted a campfire, hayride, smores and hotdog night at her house so Alan took the girls while I finished up with our small group with the youth.  (We read the book Dateable and it was great for them).  Whew!  What a week!!!!
