Playdate with Friends

On Wednesday we headed out to Birmingham for the rest of the week.  Our first stop was to spend the day with the Malone's!  We opted for a playdate at their house since Anne Rae was about 8 1/2 months pregnant.  The kids all play so well together and spent hours down in the playroom with no fussing or trouble.  It worked out that it was also Anne Rae's birthday so we celebrated with cupcakes.  She and I stayed up stairs visiting and catching up (and timing her contractions - ha!).

We are also excited because yesterday (April 25th - I backdate the blog to the dates we actually do the stuff!) Jones and Crawford got their new baby sister Charlotte!  Congrats Friends!

Botanical Gardens

On Tuesday of Spring Break we went to the Huntsville Botanical Gardens with our friends Abby and Ashley and we LOVED it!  It was absolutely beautiful with so many things to do and explore.  They have all these great treehouses and we never knew when one would pop up or what fun things would be at it.  My girls both agreed that the flowerpot one was their favorite.  There was a great children's area and butterfly house as well.  We spent well over 3 hours there and still probably didn't see everything

Opening Day Parade

Gracie had Madison spend the night and the girls and Alan got up early to be at the parade by 8! They had fun decorating the truck, blowing bubbles and riding along. Next was opening ceremonies where they announce all the teams and coaches. We spent the rest of the day getting dance and softball pictures

PACT Program

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month and our local agency, PACT hosted a lunch and invited the preschoolers to come out and sing as part of their program. Gracie was so excited to sing their songs to an audience and have a picnic with her classmates.

As a side not to PACT - they hosted a marriage month on Facebook and had a drawing for a Grand Prize of a night away and spa package and I.WON. I never win anything so I was ecstatic. Facebook finally paid off for me and now there is a little less teasing when I am on facebook so Alan ensures he is my guest for that weekend. ha ha ha

1st Game

Softball season kicked off tonight, but not with it's usual fanfare. The opening ceremonies were cancelled last weekend due to all the rain. The selfish part of me was glad b/c I didn't miss it all due to American Girl, but I knew Gracie was disappointed. Luckily it was rescheduled for this weekend and she will get to do the parade and ceremonies.

I was so proud of her for getting a hit in the game. More importantly it was an RBI that brought in 2 runs! We won the game!! Did I mention before that Alan is coaching this year. He is an assistant and working hard with all the girls.

American Girl

American Girl - We've done it again! Junior League of Morgan County hosted the 3rd Annual American Girl Fashion Show this weekend. I put my heart into this event and there is alot that goes into it. We held it at the Princess Theatre again this year and it was great. Our members worked so hard and it was truly fabulous.

I was so excited because this year, mom got to bring Gracie to enjoy the show. Until this year, no one in my family has attended b/c the girls have been so young, but I knew I wanted Gracie to participate this year. I'm never able to actually go to the show, so I'm glad mom was able to bring her. Gracie got to be a VIP Girl and be announced on stage during a special section we have and got to carry her Julie doll. Also, she got a couple of surprises from the souvenir shop, got to get her nails done and Julie got to visit the hair salon and got to have Julie's hair done by her friend Mattie's mom, Ms. Ruth Ann. (which she loved and now makes Mallary be Ms. Ruth Ann to pretend like Julie is getting her hair done again).

It was American Girls 25th Birthday this year so they also got yummy pink cupcakes as part of their snack for the show!

It was a super yucky rainy day (which slightly made me happy b/c it was Opening Day and I was going to miss everything for ball - yay rescheduled for next weekend) but the show was a great success!! I'm so proud of Junior League and it's hard work!
