Elaine's Baby Shower

After the parade on Friday, we packed up and headed south to Birmingham for the weekend. Friday night we celebrated the upcoming arrival of Ava and had a fun dinner party for Elaine at the Faulkner's house. Ava got all kinds of pretty gifts, clothes, and blankets. Mrs. Faulkner let my girls downstairs to play with the triplets old toys....they were in heaven!

Homecoming Parade

Friday kicked off our big weekend of fun. We went to Decatur High's Homecoming Parade. It's always so much fun. The girls love catching candy and watching the floats. They also love seeing all the Homecoming Court all dressed up like "princesses".

P.S. It was Hoover High's Big Rivalry this weekend against the Vestavia Rebels - Bucs Win 35-7. Hooray for Hoover!!!

Lauren's Birthday Party

Gracie has been waiting for this Birthday Party ever since the invite arrived. She and Lauren have been friends since birth and now dance together too! and it was at Mel's Sweet Treats. Mel's might just be her most favorite place in Decatur. She loves to eat lunch there, she loves their chocolate covered strawberries and she loves that her dance studio is right.next.door! So naturally when I told her what the invitation said she was estatic!

They got to make cookie dough, roll and cut out their cookies and decorate them! They also got to decorate Lauren's Birthday cake. She had so much fun!!!

Pink

I hope everyone knows that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I always take this month seriously now at my age, since my sweet friend Claire fought and beat breast cancer at the age of 27. Check her out here. She will actually on the front page and be their "feature" survivor on October 26th. It's amazing her small group of young friends that have battled it - and also scary how fast that small group grows.

I also keep Mama C - Brenda Calhoun in my thoughts this month as she has now beat it twice! Her daughter Amy is a dear friend from college so of course her mom is special to me too. Mama C's link contains her blog of her battle with IBC. It's her real story of all her struggles and how tough the battle is.

This year our town started a "Power of Pink" Walk. This year's walk honored Mrs. Lee Lott, who I don't have the pleasure of knowing personally; however, I am friends with her daughter, Laura and many of her friends who only have kind words to share about Mrs. Lott. As soon as I heard about the walk I knew I wanted to participate to do my small part to help with breast cancer awareness and walk on behalf of so many special people who have fought the good fight. Here is some pictures from today. I participated with Junior League's Team and so glad we had so many girls out today.

I usually don't link alot of pages to friends blogs, but I just think it's such a real thing to see of just how many my "blog" friends have been affected by breast cancer. So remember to "Think Pink" the month of October and hopefully they will find a cure one day!

Back in Action

I got a new camera this week - Woo Hoo! So we're back in posting action. This morning was donuts with Dad at school. The girls were so excited. They picked out their Auburn clothes to wear special for Daddy and ready to go early this morning. We had to make a quick stop to get Flu Mist this morning and they were both wonderful for the nurse.

CAn you guess..

what's broken? yep, another digital camera. I mean seriously I am a total jinx to cameras. I got mine out at Riverfest this weekend and it wouldn't really turn on and now the lens won't go back in. Ugh! I guess I'll be camera shopping the next time I'm at Target.

It's Game Time!

Once Again, we will remind readers that we are a "House Divided" during football season. However, to double our fun, we are good sports about both teams. Gracie has certainly turned into a huge Auburn fan and after going to cheer camp this summer, has learned to change Decatur Red Raiders to Auburn Tigers to throw some awesome Pep Rallys. Her little sidekick supports both teams and cheered on "Awabama" for me and helping out in the ratios in our house ; )

Here they are in their cheer outfits. So cute (no matter what the colors are....)
