I hope everyone knows that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I always take this month seriously now at my age, since my sweet friend Claire fought and beat breast cancer at the age of 27. Check her out here. She will actually on the front page and be their "feature" survivor on October 26th. It's amazing her small group of young friends that have battled it - and also scary how fast that small group grows.
I also keep Mama C - Brenda Calhoun in my thoughts this month as she has now beat it twice! Her daughter Amy is a dear friend from college so of course her mom is special to me too. Mama C's link contains her blog of her battle with IBC. It's her real story of all her struggles and how tough the battle is.
This year our town started a "Power of Pink" Walk. This year's walk honored Mrs. Lee Lott, who I don't have the pleasure of knowing personally; however, I am friends with her daughter, Laura and many of her friends who only have kind words to share about Mrs. Lott. As soon as I heard about the walk I knew I wanted to participate to do my small part to help with breast cancer awareness and walk on behalf of so many special people who have fought the good fight. Here is some pictures from today. I participated with Junior League's Team and so glad we had so many girls out today.

I usually don't link alot of pages to friends blogs, but I just think it's such a real thing to see of just how many my "blog" friends have been affected by breast cancer. So remember to "Think Pink" the month of October and hopefully they will find a cure one day!
