Diapers, Diapers, and More Diapers!!!!

This weekend Elaine and Alison hosted a little diaper shower and luncheon for me to help us get ready for little Mallary. They out did themselves with a super yummy lunch and great time! I have to say Mallary's closet is overflowing with diapers and wipes and we couldn't be happier. We also enjoyed the other sweet surprises we recieved. We are so grateful to all our friends and family that were there. Now, we just need Mallary!

Since we are having a new baby girl, we decided we would reuse the nursery and make Gracie her new big girl room. Here are a few new pics of her new room.

Welcome New Friend!

Congrats to the Poole Family... Sally Katherine was born yesterday evening. She was 7 lbs. 12 oz.

On a newborn related note...Yesterday we received a Huggies sample diaper and coupons in the mail. It was size N and I was shocked to see how small it was. I mean it was tiny! How quickly we forget how itty bitty these little newborn babies are. Gracie wore that size for a couple of weeks and comparing it against a Size 5 that she is in now, it reminds me of how fast she has grown up.

The Real Deal!

Ok, Wednesday's little bit of snow seemed great at the time, but we got the better snow on Saturday. Well, we didn't get the snow in Decatur, we had to pack up and head south (what?!?!? - Yes I said head south) to see some snow. Friday night, the forecasters were changing their minds about how much snow we might see in Decatur and after several attempts to convince Alan during the day on Friday that we needed to go to Birmingham to Mary's parent's house, he finally said let's go around 7:00! We quickly packed up our winter gear and hit the road. Well when Gracie and I woke up at 8:00 am on Saturday we were so disappointed that there was no snow on the ground. We went downstairs to get breakfast and much to our delight the white stuff started coming down. After about 2 hours we had maybe a 1/2 inch, but that was enough to get us out there for some play time. We all had fun making baby snowman, eating snow, and having a little snowball fight. Gracie was so much fun to watch "throwing" a snowball. We'd make her a ball and she'd pick her target and come smear it on your pants legs and say "I got you". Too cute!

Snow Day!

Alan and Gracie
Close up to see the snow on Alan's jacket

Gracie trying to catch a snowflake in her mouth
The blurs are all the snow flakes falling

It's time to go in when Gracie starts stripping her warm clothes off in the snow

The kept teasing us with a chance of snow and you know how they like to over exaggerate the snow chances in the south so we never thought we'd have a mini winter wonderland today. It started snow flurries around 2:30 and then it really started coming down around 4. Alan, Gracie and I took our few minutes to enjoy the snow. It's really sticking to roofs and cars now, but I'm guessing Alan will be going to work in the morning. Who wouldn't love a snow day since we can't even remember our last one?????

Never a dull moment in the McRee House!

Gracie enjoying some apple for lunch!
She came up with this all on her own.Last night, I hear Alan start laughing and telling Gracie
Come here and Show MaMa. I know it's never good when I hear that.
This is what I got!

A little marker never hurt anyone!
A few minutes and a little rubbing alcohol later it cleaned up.
She also "colored" her tongue but I couldn't get a pic of that.
(The marker was non-toxic for all the worriers out there)

Now, onto this morning. I made a sandwich for Alan's lunch and
left the bread out on the counter. Alan was about to leave and Gracie was
yelling "I make my sandwich" and running to tell Dada Bye.

Yes, she made a Bread Sandwich.
If you can't tell it's 4 slices of bread and she ate 1/2 of it.
The best and most breakfast she's eaten in weeks!

And finally, The house is actually pretty clean and picked up
The new TV is mounted to the wall, and good toons are on
so finally I can take a shower without major worry of what she can do...

Wrong.

She got my purse, unzipped it and found lipstick.
I opened the door after my shower and she's yelling
I'm pretty Take my picture.

She had to get under her bed for the picture.
Amazingly enough, the lipstick was only on her face.

Never a dull moment in our house!!!!!!
