9 months old

Grant - you are 3/4 a year old - so hard to believe!!  You are getting more lively everyday.  You are scooting around like an inchworm or army crawling everywhere and fast.  You laugh at yourself when you think you are sneaking away from us into the bathroom or the big girls' room.

You like all 2nd foods, the pouches, etc.  You still only have 2 little bottom teeth and don't seem interested in table food too much.  You were 18 lbs. 1 oz at your check up and that was 10th percentile.  You were 27 3/4 inches long and 50th percentile.  Definitely smaller than both girls at this age.  You are fighting bottles and we try to get close to 4 6-oz. bottles down you but it's more like 16-20oz./day.

You love baths and splashing and being splashed and sticking your head under the faucet when it's running, riding in the stroller without your infant seat, playing with toys.  You sleep well going to bed whenever we put you down and sleeping until around 6:30/7:00 everyday.  You are a trooper at the ballpark and do great during games and practices.

8 months old

Sweet baby - my how you continue to be the best baby.  You are getting more active and alert everyday.  This month I thought I would do a typical day. You like to wake up at 5:30-6:30 and have a bottle.  8:00 we have cereal.  Just like Mallary you love the organic DHA varieties especially ones with apples best.  You usually nap around 9 for an hour or an hour and a half.  Then it's bottle time again.  After we pick Mallary up at 12, we all come home for lunch.  You have been eating a pouch of fruit or veggie combo.  You love those.    Somewhere we work in a little nap.  You have another bottle around the time we pick up Gracie from school b/t 2 and 3.  Dinner is a protein and a fruit or veggie and then an night night bottle.  This is just a good example of what our day is like with you.  24-30oz. of formula and 4 containers of food.
You are in Size 3 Diapers and 6-9 month clothes.  9 months for the footed stuff for sure!  You are sitting up well and scooting around.  You can get on all fours, but you mostly scoot army style if you want to move (which you do!) Sometimes you scoot backwards which is funny.   Bath time is great and you love for us to pour the water on you and your head or splash you.  You also love to make big splashes and play with the bath toys.  You still love your paci for sleeping or resting, but just don't have to have it all the time.  You babble all the time.  You will say mmmmmm good when we are feeding you.  I'm going with that for your 1st words.  No more teeth right now.

What's a "Pona"

The other day Mallary and I were driving in the car reviewing words that started with different letters.  We were working on P words and she asked "What's a Pona"  I said I'm not sure I've never heard of a pona.  I tried saying other words that she might have had confused and she finally said No , you know, "Once Pona Time."  Ha!

7 months old

Grant, You just keep getting more and more precious each day.  Your baby days are flying by and it makes me sooo sad.  This month was a big month for development.  You can sit up on your own now, you had your bottom 2 teeth pop through on the 9th, you are really trying to crawl (even though I flip you back over - you will scoot backwards all over the place).  You are eating better and just like Mallary love the organic DHA varieties and gobble those up.  Cereal in the mornings and 1 1/2 -2 jars at dinner.  You are moving into some 9 months clothes and are in size 3 diapers.  You still take 4 or 5 6-oz. bottles a day.   You have been waking up around 5 and you and mommy have to get in the guest bed and go back to sleep. I really just think you like to cuddle up.  You love all your toys - jumpers, swing and bouncer seat still.   You have started sitting up to play with your real toys now too.  Still have the title of best baby ever!

6 months old

Sweet Baby - you are already 1/2 year old.  The time is flying by way too fast.  You are getting more and more alert everyday.  You are loving the doorway bouncer.  You have figured out jumping and really jump when we say Jump Jump!

You are wearing 6 months clothes and Size 2/3 diapers.  We are finishing up our last packs of 2's.  You eat 5 6-oz. bottles a day and 1 thing of baby food.  Fruits are still your favorites, but you don't turn away from anything.

You love your bath and chewing on washcloths.  You are sleeping well...napping whenever and going to bed around 8 and getting up about 6.

At your 6 month check up you weighed 16lbs. 14 oz.  and you were b/t 25-40% percentile.

You are trying to grab your toes.  You are almost sitting up.  You can roll to your stomach, but still haven't figured out how to get back on your back.

Grant is 2 months old

Sweet Little Buddy how in the world has 2 months passed us by.  You continue to be just the sweetest little thing.  You are so easy and good natured.  You are always just go with the flow for whatever we are doing and rarely fuss.  You sleep well - still getting up about every 4 hours at night, but you are so sweet to cuddle that I don't mind.  You will play on your playmat, sit in your bouncer seat and really like the swing.  It's your favorite.  You still like your paci, but mainly for falling asleep.  Eating 4-5oz. per bottle.  We do have to make you a little special mix of 1/2 soy 1/2 sensitive - that seems to make your little tummy happy.  You still sleep quite a bit but you are getting more alert.  In the past week or so you have really started smiling at us and it's so cute.  You are in 3 month clothes and size 1 diapers (but I think we'll go to 2's with our next package).  Bath time is better - you only get mad when I get you out until I have you dressed.  We Love you so much!

August 21st was your 2 month appt.  You got 3 shots and your rotateq dose.  You weighed in at 11lbs. 7oz. and 23 inches long (both 50% percentile).  I cracked up when I went to look up the girls stats.  You fit right in with them.

 From Mallary's 2month write up...
She weighed in at 11 lbs. 7 oz. and 23 1/2 inches long. To compare with Gracie - They were both the exact same length and Gracie was 12 lbs. Mallary received 3 shots and her rotateq dose. She cried only briefly for shots and was asleep in her carrier before we were done checking out.

One Month Old

Oh Sweet Grant - I can't express to you how fast your precious 1st month of life has passed us by.  You are such a good baby - eating, sleeping and going with the flow.  You are up to 4 oz. of formula about every 4 hours or so.  We're having a little trouble with gas - but it only lasts for a few minutes and then you are back to your sweet self.   You love for us to hold you, but you also like the swing and bouncer seat.  You have slept in your baby bed every night swaddled from the chest down.  You like to know where your hands are.  You like the paci when you want it and then you really want it - other times you are just content and don't care for it.  You have been a champ where ever we take you - camp recitals, chick fil a playdates, church, kiddie carnival.   At 2 1/2 weeks you weighed 7lbs. 15 oz. and we had to take you back after that to help get your little belly button healed up.  You weighed 8lbs. 15oz (fully dressed with a soaked diaper) at 3 1/2 weeks so really more like 8 1/2lbs.  Your little cheeks have definitely filled out.  Bath time is getting better - some times you love it and others you hate - mainly b/c you don't like to be cold - same as diaper changes.  Your sisters love you just as much as they did from the minute they found out you were coming.  You tolerate them holding you  and being in your face sometimes.  Oh we Love you so much and so glad you have blessed our lives.
