VBS and Picnic

This year our church had Shake it Up Cafe for Vacation Bible School.  This theme was right up our alley as we all like to cook and help out in the kitchen.  I was a group leader for rising kindergarteners which meant Gracie and lots of her friends.  Each day we rotated through Bible Story, Science, Crafts, Snack, Recreation and Music.  Gracie had so much fun.  On the last day we have a family picnic night at Point Mallard and the kids sing all the songs they learned during the week.

Dance Recital 2011

This year was another fabulous dance recital "Rock and Roll Cafe" with music from the 60's to current - and even better because we had 2 dancers this year!  It was Mallary's first recital and she was so cute!  Gracie did not disappoint with her awesome 3 dances in ballet, tap and acro.  Both girls also danced in the finale.  They worked so hard this year at dance and loved it.

Studio A Awards Night

Have we mentioned that we love our dance studio.  Our is truly a very family oriented studio and we enjoy all the extras throughout the year that they plan for us.  We had a family cookout and Awards Night the weekend before the recital.  The girls were awarded with Excellence in Dance Certificates and then each dancer got a specialized award.  Mallary got the Fantastic Listener Award and Gracie got the Beautiful Back Bend Award for achieving her standing back bend and kickover in Acro class.

Blasters Finale

The Blasters have had a great season and Gracie's improvement this year has been outstanding! Since the last post about softball - she has become a consistent 2-3 hits per game and some BIG hits like doubles and triples!  She has played so well this year - we are so proud of her!  The Blasters hard work has paid off because they were the League Champs again this year!  They only lost 2 games all season.  I'm so proud of them.

Tournament - We lost our 1st game in the tournament after a 1st round bye.  The girls played an awesome game in 99 degree weather.  They went to extra innings and almost and extra hour of play for a final score of 16-13.  It was fun, but since the heat is here, we're glad to be done!

Huntsville Fun Day

The girls and I headed to a fun day in Huntsville.  We started out at the Monaco for the Free Movie Morning.  We saw Alvin and Chipmunks.  Both girls loved it and watched it pretty good.  Mallary was a little antsy, but we made it through the whole thing.  We have a membership to the Huntsville Botanical Gardens and they have children's activities on Wednesdays so we headed over there for some fun.  The girls got to make a Sundae and do crafts.  Then we visited some of their favorite areas like the Butterfly Garden.  Afterwards we ate lunch at their garden cafe.

There were people making balloon animals.  We got ladybugs!
